Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 4 clove Garlic
  • 2 tablespoon Tomato Paste
  • 1 can Canned Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • optional for garnish Fresh Basil Leaves
Instructions
  1. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
  2. Add tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and sugar. Stir well.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and let the sauce rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Serve the sauce over pasta or use as a base for other dishes.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
