  1. In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the onion, carrot, celery, and garlic. Cook until softened.
  2. Add the lentils, chickpeas, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, cumin, coriander, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon stick. Stir well.
  3. Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for about 1 hour.
  4. Remove the cinnamon stick and blend the soup until smooth using an immersion blender.
  5. Stir in the cilantro, parsley, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Let the soup rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
