Ingredients
  • 1.5 cup Basmati Rice
  • 1 cup Green Peas
  • 1 medium-sized Onion
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic
  • 1 chopped Green Chili
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 inch Cinnamon Stick
  • 4 whole Cloves
  • 4 whole Cardamom Pods
  • 1 whole Bay Leaf
  • 2 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 cup Water
Instructions
  1. Wash the rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods, and bay leaf. Sauté for a minute.
  3. Add chopped onion, ginger, garlic, and green chili. Sauté until the onion turns golden brown.
  4. Add green peas and sauté for 2 minutes.
  5. Add the soaked rice, salt, and water. Stir well.
  6. Cover the pan and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
  7. Let it rest for 5 minutes before fluffing the rice with a fork.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
