Ingredients
  • 1 cup Brown Rice
  • 4 cup Water
  • 1 medium Carrot
  • 1 cup Broccoli
  • 1 medium Zucchini
  • 1 cup Spinach
  • 2 tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 2 tablespoon Scallions
Instructions
  1. Rinse the brown rice under cold water.
  2. In a large pot, add the rinsed brown rice and water. Bring it to a boil.
  3. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 30 minutes.
  4. While the rice is cooking, prepare the vegetables by chopping them into bite-sized pieces.
  5. After 30 minutes, add the chopped vegetables to the pot with the rice.
  6. Stir in soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and sesame oil.
  7. Cover the pot again and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  8. Turn off the heat and let the gruel rest for 5 minutes.
  9. Serve the brown rice gruel hot, garnished with scallions.
