Ingredients
  • 1 cup Red Lentils
  • 4 cups Water
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1 medium Tomato
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
Instructions
  1. Rinse the lentils and set aside.
  2. In a large pot, heat some oil and sauté the onions, garlic, and ginger until fragrant.
  3. Add the tomatoes and cook until they soften.
  4. Add the lentils, water, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 20-25 minutes until the lentils are cooked and the flavors are well combined.
  6. Stir in fresh cilantro and lemon juice.
  7. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  8. Serve hot with rice or naan bread.
