Ingredients
  • 1.5 cup Basmati Rice
  • 1 cup Mixed Vegetables (carrots, peas, beans, corn)
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 clove Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1 chopped Green Chili
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
  • 3 cup Water
Instructions
  1. Rinse the basmati rice until the water runs clear. Soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onion, garlic, ginger, and green chili. Saute until the onion turns translucent.
  3. Add the mixed vegetables and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan. Stir well.
  5. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix everything together.
  6. Add water and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover the pan, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
  7. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  8. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
