Nutella was created during World War II when cocoa was scarce and hazelnuts were used as a substitute.

Ingredients
  • 200 gram Hazelnuts
  • 30 gram Cocoa powder
  • 100 gram Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch Salt
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the hazelnuts on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until fragrant and lightly browned.
  2. Remove the hazelnuts from the oven and let them cool slightly. Rub the hazelnuts in a clean kitchen towel to remove the skins.
  3. In a food processor, blend the toasted hazelnuts until they become a smooth paste.
  4. Add the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and salt to the hazelnut paste. Blend until all the ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  5. Transfer the homemade Nutella to a clean jar and store it in the refrigerator.
  6. Enjoy your homemade Nutella on toast, pancakes, or use it as a filling for cakes and pastries.
