  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Peel and cut the yams into 1-inch cubes.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the yams with olive oil, maple syrup, cinnamon, and salt until well coated.
  4. Spread the yams in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the yams are tender and golden brown, stirring once halfway through.
  6. Meanwhile, toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant, about 5 minutes. Let them cool, then chop them.
  7. Remove the yams from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  8. Transfer the yams to a serving dish and sprinkle with chopped pecans and fresh rosemary.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy!
