Granola bars were invented in the late 19th century as a portable and nutritious snack for hikers and climbers.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, mix together oats, almonds, dried cranberries, and dried apricots.

In a small saucepan, warm honey, peanut butter, vanilla extract, and salt over low heat until well combined.
