Ingredients
  • 16 ounce Okra
  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 cup Vegetable oil
Instructions
  1. Wash and dry the okra. Cut off the stems and slice the okra into 1/2-inch pieces.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the cornmeal, flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Dredge the okra pieces in the cornmeal mixture, making sure to coat them evenly.
  5. Carefully place the coated okra in the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Remove the fried okra from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve hot as a side dish or appetizer.
