Ingredients
  • 2 cup Rice flour
  • 1 cup Gram flour (besan)
  • 1 tablespoon Black sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida (hing)
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • as needed for frying Oil
Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine rice flour, gram flour, black sesame seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, butter, and salt.
  2. Gradually add water and knead into a smooth dough.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
  4. Take a portion of the dough and place it in a murukku press.
  5. Press the dough directly into the hot oil in a circular motion to form murukku shapes.
  6. Fry until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel.
  8. Allow the murukku to cool and rest for 10 minutes before serving.
