Ingredients
  • 1 cup Red Lentils
  • 4 cup Water
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 clove Garlic
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 1 medium Tomato
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh Cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
Instructions
  1. Rinse the lentils and soak them in water for 30 minutes.
  2. In a large pot, heat some oil and sauté the onions, garlic, and ginger until golden brown.
  3. Add the tomatoes and cook until they soften.
  4. Drain the soaked lentils and add them to the pot along with water, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes until the lentils are cooked and the flavors are well combined.
  6. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and lemon juice.
  8. Serve hot with rice or bread.
