Ingredients
  • 200 gram Dates
  • 300 gram Semolina
  • 100 gram Fine bulgur
  • 200 gram Butter
  • 2 teaspoon Rosewater
  • 2 teaspoon Orange blossom water
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cardamom
  • 50 gram Powdered sugar
  • 50 gram Pistachios (optional)
Instructions
  1. In a food processor, blend dates until smooth.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together semolina, bulgur, melted butter, rosewater, orange blossom water, cinnamon, and cardamom.
  3. Knead the dough until it comes together.
  4. Take a small portion of the dough and flatten it in your palm.
  5. Place a small amount of the date paste in the center of the dough.
  6. Fold the dough over the filling and shape it into a ball.
  7. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.
  8. Place the maamoul on a baking sheet and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Allow the maamoul to cool completely.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with pistachios, if desired.
  11. Serve and enjoy!
