Ingredients
  • 1 cup Split Bengal Gram (Chana Dal)
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 piece Green Chili, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoon Curry Leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander Leaves, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Oil, for frying
Instructions
  1. Soak the split Bengal gram (chana dal) in water for 2-3 hours.
  2. Drain the water and grind the soaked dal into a coarse paste.
  3. Transfer the dal paste to a mixing bowl.
  4. Add chopped onion, green chili, grated ginger, curry leaves, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, and salt to the dal paste.
  5. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
  7. Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a round flat vada.
  8. Carefully drop the vada into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Remove the vada from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  10. Repeat the process for the remaining mixture.
  11. Serve hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
