Ingredients
  • 2 cup Basmati rice
  • 4 cup Vegetable broth
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 medium Carrot
  • 1 cup Peas
  • 1/2 cup Raisins
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
Instructions
  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  4. Add the carrots and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Add the peas, raisins, turmeric, cumin powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.
  6. Add the rice and vegetable broth. Bring to a boil.
  7. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  9. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
