Ingredients
  • 2 cup Basmati Rice
  • 2 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
  • 1 medium-sized Onion
  • 3 clove Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 4 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh Cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
Instructions
  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add chopped onions and cook until golden brown.
  3. Add minced garlic and ginger, and cook for another minute.
  4. Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Stir well to combine.
  5. Add the rinsed basmati rice to the pan and stir to coat the rice with the spices.
  6. Pour in water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
  7. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro and drizzle with lemon juice. Serve hot.
